 Re: TJ-6 Build
Building the flat skid. I used ¼” plate with ½” spacers off the bottom of the frame. I then used “C” chanell for the cross and added plate to the bottom to stiffen and protect the needed holes. I also used “C” cannel for the Black Box mounting point. FYI- It took me 3 to 4 times the amount of time I had planned to build this skid and install the Black box and set up the shifters.

 Re: TJ-6 Build
If it only took 3 to 4 times as long to build the skid plate as you thought it would you must have forgotten something vital !
Just kidding, I just re-read the whole thread from the start, and you are doing a great job of documenting the build. Thanks ! I hope to get a good look at it when you're all finished.

 Re: TJ-6 Build
Very nice set-up! "It's all good" if it takes longer if the finished product is awesome!

 Re: TJ-6 Build
Extended the wire harness for t-case and fuel tank. I soldered all the connections and then used shrink rap.

 Re: TJ-6 Build
Got the Rubi D44 all in- quick spec, boxed lower control arm mounts, lock right, G-2 shafts, new hub assemblies. One of the axle shafts was missing a cotter pin hole….. I tried to drill one, and it worked…. The Rusty’s steering is hitting the stock diff cover, time for Currie.

 Re: TJ-6 Build
The engine is running well again :2thumbsup: I am re-using my old front drive shaft as a temp/ trail back up rear. This is how I cut it down. I used a section that was cut out as a sleeve. I will be welding it after I post this.

 Re: TJ-6 Build
Thanks for the support!
The skid only weighs 130lbs! that’s 90 more than the old one….. I was feeling really beat after 3 days of fitting it to the jeep and decided to toss it on a scale, I was shocked! Well at least I am keeping my center of gravity low…… I just need some warm weather so I can get it painted.

 Re: TJ-6 Build
Ziptie you have done a great job with your jeep. But you should definitely not do drivelines. Those things are going to rattle you jeep apart.
